It has striking, deep blue with violet, tubular flower clusters along tall branching stems with long narrow deep green leaves. Rocky Mountain Penstemon is extremely easy to grow and spreads easily, so give this long-lasting perennial room to expand.Sow seeds in late fall or early winter at a depth of 1/8 to ¼”, the cold temperatures will break down the seed coat and improve germination. Good seed-to-soil contact is important for germination and establishment. The intense blue-purple flowers bloom in late spring and last over a month attracting bees and hummingbirds.
